ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܘܠܟܢܐ ܚܒܝܒܝ ܢܕܟܐ ܢܦܫܢ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܛܡܐܘܬܐ ܕܒܣܪܐ ܘܕܪܘܚܐ ܘܢܦܠܘܚ ܩܕܝܫܘܬܐ ܒܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' bdkhlth' qdyshwth' wnplwkh wdrwkh' dbsr' Tm'wth' klh mn npshn ndk' khbyby mwlkn' hlyn hkyl ln d'yth mTl
Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

ܣܝܒܪܘܢ ܐܚܝܢ ܒܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܐܥܘܠܢ ܠܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܚܒܠܢ ܠܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܥܠܒܢ
elbn l' l'nsh khbln l' l'nsh 'ewln l' b'nsh 'khyn sybrwn
Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܚܝܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡܬ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪܬ ܕܒܠܒܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܡܬ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܘܠܡܚܐ
wlmkh' 'kkhd' lmmth 'nthwn dblbn 'mrth gyr qdmth 'n' 'mr lmkhybwthkwn hw' l'
I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.

ܦܪܗܣܝܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܣܓܝ ܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܒܟܘܢ ܫܘܒܗܪܐ ܘܡܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܘܣܘܓܐܐ ܡܬܝܬܪܐ ܒܝ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܘܠܨܢܝ
'wltsny bklhwn khdwth' by mthythr' wswg'' bwy'' 'n' wml' shwbhr' bkwn ly 'yth wsgy lwthkwn ly 'yth sgy'th' prhsy'
Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

ܐܦ ܡܢ ܕܐܬܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܡܩܕܘܢܝܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܚܕ ܢܝܚ ܗܘܐ ܠܦܓܪܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܐܬܐܠܨܢ ܡܢ ܠܒܪ ܩܪܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܠܓܘ ܕܚܠܬܐ

For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.

ܐܠܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܒܝܐ ܠܡܟܝܟܐ ܒܝܐܢ ܒܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܕܛܛܘܣ

Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

ܘܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܒܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܒܢܝܚܗ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܢܝܚ ܒܟܘܢ ܣܒܪܢ ܓܝܪ ܥܠ ܚܘܒܟܘܢ ܕܠܘܬܢ ܘܥܠ ܐܒܠܟܘܢ ܘܛܢܢܟܘܢ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܬ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܝ
ly hwth sgy'th' khdwth' shmeth wkd 'pyn del wTnnkwn 'blkwn wel dlwthn khwbkwn el gyr sbrn bkwn d'thnykh hw bnykhh 'p 'l' bm'thythh blkhwd wl'
and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced still more.

ܕܐܦܢ ܐܟܪܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܓܪܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܘܝܐ ܠܝ ܢܦܫܝ ܐܦܢ ܬܘܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܚܙܐ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܗܝ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܐܦܢ ܕܫܥܬܐ ܐܟܪܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn 'kryth dsheth' 'pn 'grth' dhy gyr 'n' khz' hwth thwy' 'pn npshy ly thwy' l' b'grth' lkwn 'kryth d'pn
For though I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you sorry, though just for a while.

ܐܠܐ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܥܠ ܕܟܪܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܪܝܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܬܝܒܘܬܐ ܐܝܬܝܬܟܘܢ ܟܪܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܒܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܬܚܣܪܘܢ ܡܢܢ
mnn thkhsrwn l' dbmdm 'ykn' bd'lh' gyr lkwn kryth 'ythythkwn lthybwth' dkrywthkwn mTl 'l' lkwn dkryth el l' ly ebdth sgy'th' khdwth' 'l'
I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.

ܟܪܝܘܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܛܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܬܘܬ ܢܦܫܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܦܟܐ ܘܡܦܢܝܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܟܪܝܘܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܥܒܕܐ
ebd' hw mwth' delm' dyn krywth' lkhy' wmpny' hpk' dl' ebd' npsh' thwth 'lh' dmTl gyr krywth'
For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.

ܗܐ ܓܝܪ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܕܐܬܬܥܝܩܬܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܟܡܐ ܐܥܒܕܬ ܒܟܘܢ ܚܦܝܛܘܬܐ ܘܡܦܩ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܘܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܘܛܢܢܐ ܘܬܒܥܬܐ ܘܒܟܠܡܕܡ ܚܘܝܬܘܢ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܕܕܟܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗ ܒܨܒܘܬܐ
btsbwth' bh 'nthwn ddkyn npshkwn khwythwn wbklmdm wthbeth' wTnn' wkhwb' wdkhlth' wrwgz' brwkh' wmpq khpyTwth' bkwn 'ebdth km' 'lh' mTl d'ththeyqthwn hd' hy gyr h'
For behold, this same thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vengeance! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.

ܬܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܐ ܕܟܬܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܛܠ ܡܣܟܠܢܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܕܡܣܟܠ ܒܗ ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܬܝܕܥ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܦܝܛܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܡܛܠܬܢ
dmTlthn khpyTwthkwn 'lh' qdm dththyde mTl 'l' bh dmskl mn hw mTl l' 'p mskln' mTl hw' dl' lkwn dkthbth hd' dyn thhw'
So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܬܒܝܐܢ ܘܥܡ ܒܘܝܐܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܚܕܝܢ ܒܚܕܘܬܗ ܕܛܛܘܣ ܕܐܬܢܝܚܬ ܪܘܚܗ ܥܡ ܟܠܟܘܢ

Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

ܕܒܡܕܡ ܕܐܫܬܒܗܪܬ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܒܗܬܬ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܩܘܫܬܐ ܡܠܠܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܫܘܒܗܪܢ ܕܠܘܬ ܛܛܘܣ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ ܐܫܬܟܚ
'shthkkh bqwshth' TTws dlwth shwbhrn 'p hkn' emkwn mlln qwshth' mdm dkl 'yk 'l' bhthth l' 'pykwn el lh d'shthbhrth dbmdm
For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.

ܐܦ ܪܚܡܘܗܝ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܣܓܝܘ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܟܕ ܡܬܕܟܪ ܡܫܬܡܥܢܘܬܐ ܕܟܠܟܘܢ ܕܒܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܒܪܬܝܬܐ ܩܒܠܬܘܢܝܗܝ
qblthwnyhy wbrthyth' dbdkhlth' dklkwn mshthmenwth' mthdkr kd elykwn sgyw ythyr'yth rkhmwhy 'p
His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.

ܚܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܬܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ
elykwn 'n' thkyl mdm dbkl 'n' khd'
I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you.
